Hello! My name is Michelle Siegel and I am thrilled to be a part of Carolina Parenting Solutions, PLLC. I graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and then received my Master’s in Social Service from Bryn Mawr College in PA. I have over 18 years of experience working with children of all ages and their families. I have worked in the areas of adoption, therapeutic foster care, partial hospitalization programs, outpatient therapy, and early intervention.
From my experience, I have come to believe that therapy is most effective in the child’s natural environment. I enjoy working with families in their homes where I can see the behaviors and interactions first-hand. Along with empathy and humor, some of the treatment modalities I use are play therapy, family therapy, behavior modification, and cognitive behavioral therapy. Every family is unique and what works for one family may not work for another. As the parent, you are the expert on your child. As the therapist, my hope is to work together and empower you to help your child by providing the necessary tools, skills, and resources to create a safe and healthy home environment for the entire family.
I am originally from Pennsylvania and spent several years in Maryland right outside of Washington, DC. My family and I moved to North Carolina in 2012 and have found this area to be a wonderful place to raise a family. (The warmer weather is an added bonus!) I have two daughters who have taught me so much about patience, discipline, humor, and unconditional love. Although being a parent is often challenging, it is one of the most rewarding experiences. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, baking, reading, and taking advantage of all the activities this area has to offer.
