North Carolina Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate # A15869
My name is Jacob Kahn, and I am licensed as a Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. I received my undergraduate degree in both Psychology and Sociology from the University of Denver, focusing my studies within my major of psychology on the child and adolescent population. After graduation I began graduate school at the University of Denver, where I graduated with a Masters in Clinical Psychology with a specialty focus of Diagnosis and Treatment of Children and Adolescents. I have worked with individuals across a range of ages, races, genders, and ethnicities, but I have found that there is something particularly exciting and rewarding regarding the treatment of children and their families.
My specialty areas include Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Functional Analysis. I strongly believe we all have the ability to create progress and it is my goal to assist you in the quest for positive change. I love my work with children and face each new client without judgement, while providing the respect and unconditional support needed to succeed. Many of those I have worked with describe me as patient, understanding, and supportive.
In addition to being a therapist with Carolina Parenting Solutions, I am a father of a wonderful and adventurous toddler and had the rare privilege of being a stay at home father. Despite my desire to remain at home with my little guy, I relish the opportunity to help all the children and families that I can with my time.
