Hi! I’m Kevin, and I am a self proclaimed innovative therapist! I say this because I like to conduct therapy that doesn’t feel like therapy. I’m originally from New York, but I grew up right down the road in Concord. I have my Bachelors in Social Work from UNC- Charlotte and my Masters in Social Work from The Johnson C. Smith University.  Since graduating, I have worked in a variety of settings including in-home, school-based, outpatient and family centered treatment therapies.  While there are benefits to therapy in different settings, I have found that being able to work with children and families in the home not only achieves better results, but helps with lasting success.

I have experience with a variety of concerns, including oppositional behaviors, depression, anxiety, parenting concerns, attachment, children on the spectrum, intellectual disabilities, and trauma. I have spent the past four years working with children who were at risk of being placed out of their homes. I use many different techniques in therapy such as play, music, art, and cognitive behavioral therapy, depending on what fits the needs of my client and their family.

It is my hope to work closely with parents of my clients so that I may help them facilitate change in their family and strengthen their confidence in their parenting abilities.  Ultimately my goal is to work myself out of a job by working with the whole family to no longer need me. If you read this far down, chances are I may be potentially working with you and your family... I’m looking forward to it!
