Hi! My names is Claire Jones and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in North Carolina. I earned my BA in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island and my Masters of Science in Social Work from Columbia University in New York, NY, where I moved to Charlotte from in 2008, to escape the cold and start a family.

I am passionate about giving children and their families the tools to more successfully manage behavioral and emotional challenges. My back round working with diverse populations in hospitals, schools, community settings and private practice, has given me the skills and experience necessary to effectively understand each individual's unique strengths and challenges. I collaborate with my clients, their families, and other natural supports to set goals related to preventing or reducing the occurrence of problematic behaviors, expressing and managing emotions more successfully, strengthening interpersonal relationships, and developing coping skills to manage anxiety, depression, and life stressors. I practice from a cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and strengths-based model. I believe that the client therapist relationship is a partnership which involves ongoing collaboration to ensure mutual understanding and effectiveness.

In addition to being a child and family therapist, I am the mother of two girls, ages 5 and 8. We are an active crew, and enjoy swimming, running, tennis, and being taken on walks by our puppy, Beau! Thank you for taking the time to read my bio and I very much look forward to working with you!
