I received the official adoption papers in the mail yesterday!! The papers state "It is hereby ordered, adjudged and decreed by the Court that from the date of this Decree, Chance and Michael are declared adopted
for life" ( how amazing would it be to receive those papers at the time of our receiving of Christ?? adopted for life!)

"Often, the most difficult barrier to healing is the initial step of recognizing the need for help. As a same sex couple, with an adopted 2+ year old, as well as an adopted newborn, we quickly realized that we had much to learn. Carrie Reinecke of Carolina Parenting Solutions not only made us feel as though we were on the right track, she quickly assessed our situation, and guided us through very unfamiliar terrain. She provided tools to address our oldest son’s “dynamic” character. Our reaction to his actions became our focus (we still have work to do – this is NOT easy). Gentle guidance, refocusing, strong meaningful “time-outs” and a united effort (this is essential) have brought our sweet, gentle, adorable little boy “back to our family”. He now plays with his little brother, hasn’t bitten playmates at preschool (in a long time) and understands there are consequences to his actions."
