Keila Serrano, BSW

I am one of the newest members of Carolina Parenting Solutions, PLLC, having been with the practice for a little less than a year.  I provide Community-Based Rehabilitative Services to children ages 0-3 who have special needs. This service focuses on addressing a child’s mental and physical health in the pursuit of achieving an overall thriving developmental trajectory. In addition, I am also undergoing training to become a skilled and effective infant mental health specialist and child/family therapist by completing an internship as part of the educational requirements necessary in the attainment of a Master of Arts in Counseling.

Prior to joining Carolina Parenting Solutions, PLLC, I worked as a service coordinator for the state’s Infant-Toddler Program. It was there that my fondness of working in the area of early intervention surfaced. I was particularly drawn to a child’s social and emotional development and thus sought to gain skills that would allow me to work with children and families on a deeper level. Also, for many years I worked at CMC-Northeast, previously known as NorthEast Medical Center as a social worker/discharge planner. While employed there, I was afforded the opportunity to work with children in the Neonatal Intensive Care and Pediatric Intensive Care units and hence discovered my passion for interacting with young children and their families.

I am so enthusiastic about having the opportunity of working with Carolina Parenting Solutions, PLLC families! I pride myself on exercising authentic regard by working with children and their families with dignity and respect as I seek to form a warm, positive connection. I believe my relaxed and accepting demeanor helps families to feel at ease. I feel truly honored and privileged to be able to serve others in this capacity.
