Kristine MacMillan is originally from Maryland, where she received a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. Due to outstanding academics, she completed her clinical graduate work within one year while specializing in child and maternal health. She is currently licensed in the state of North Carolina as a LCSW. For almost 10 years Jessica has worked with children and families in a variety of settings. Her passion has always been community-based work: most recently she is practicing as an outpatient therapist to young children in the school system. In the past she has worked in the home providing direct therapeutic care to high needs children and families, provided case management services and worked as a supervisor at a homeless/runaway shelter for at-risk youth and as a socio-therapist at a residential treatment programs for emotionally disturbed youth.
Her interest started when she was 18 and worked as an assistant director of a summer camp for physically disabled youth. The joy of this experience encouraged her to pursue her interest in children, mental health and social work.
She is originally from upstate New York and has been in the Charlotte area for the past 10 years. She received her Bachelor’s and Masters degree in Social work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. She is also a devoted wife and mother. The recent birth of her son has inspired her to work with infants and toddlers and their families. There is no greater joy than to help a parent feel confident, competent, and to have a rewarding long lasting relationship with their child. Jessica looks forward to becoming part of “your world” and to learn and grow from the parents and children that she works with. She brings humor, compassion, clinical experience and a strong knowledge base of community resources.

Diana Torres, MSW, LCSW
Hello, I am Diana Torres. I am originally from Los Angeles, California, but have been here for 14 years so I am now from
Charlotte. I am married with one of precious little girl who turned one in March of 2008.
I went to UNCC and graduated with a double major in Criminal Justice and Psychology. At the time, I aspired to either be an FBI agent or work with delinquent youth. My first degree related job out of college was at Child Care Resources. There, I assisted parents in understanding the importance or early childhood development in general, but more specifically how to search for the best care possible for their child and what the options were in regard to early care and education.
In 2001, I began my graduate work in social work at UNCC. My focus of study was preventative and clinical intervention with children ages 2-5. I also worked while in graduate school. I worked for Mecklenburg County Children's Developmental Services as a Service Coordinator providing support for families of children from ages birth to three years old. These young children were at risk of developmental delays, were formally diagnosed with a medical condition and/or were developmentally delayed. In 2004, I began work with Dreamweavers Unlimited in Gastonia, NC, as a Child and Family Mental Health Therapist. While there, I provided clinical services for children aged 2 years and older. Currently, I work for Mecklenburg Behavioral Health Center as a School based psychotherapist. I have had the privilege of working with many age ranges. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed it, my passion is in Infant Mental Health. I believe that this is the time when a huge difference can be made. It’s the time to assist the parent, whose child does not come with a manual or does not fit what the experts say.
I truly look forward to serving your families and the privilege of being let into you home.
